





The Lawrence Library staff is excited to invite you to level up at the library this summer! We’ve got games, book clubs, and programs galore. Here’s just a sampling of what we have to offer. Check out our Events Calendar for a complete listing.
Join us for the adult and teen Summer Reading challenge Bingo! Get five in a row to be entered to win a drawing for a prize. Complete your whole Bingo card for a chance to win something special! Stop by the Circulation Desk to get Bingo cards.
Looking to join a book club this summer? We’ve got you covered! The Monday Morning Book Club meets Monday, July 14th at 11 AM to discuss The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon. The Cookbook Club’s July pick is Love and Lemons: Simple, Feel Good Food, which can be borrowed at the circulation desk for their July 15 meeting happening at 6 PM. Book Club is meeting on Wednesday, July 16 at 7 PM to talk about Everyone In My Family Has Killed Someone by Benjamin Stevenson. The North Woods, by Daniel Mason, will be the topic of discussion for the Historical Fiction Book Club’s July 24 meeting, being held at 5 PM.
For teens, we’re offering a new book club: Summer Scares! On Wednesday, July 23, at 4 PM, the Summer Scares book club will be dissecting dystopian thriller The Getaway by Lamar Giles. In The Getaway, folks visit the ideal resort-Karloff Country-to get away from it all. Jay has the best after-school job there. But maybe everything isn’t as perfect as it seems? Snacks will be provided. Copies of The Getaway are available to borrow at the circulation desk while supplies last. Please register for this book club on our event calendar.
To fully level up, we offer our game-filled summer programs, including ongoing Bridge, Cribbage, and American Mahjong groups. On Saturday, July 19, we’ll have an all-ages Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tournament. Make sure you register! And on Monday, July 28, at 4 PM, there will be a Minecraft Scavenger Hunt for teens and tweens ages 11-17.
On Tuesday, July 29, drop in for Slice & Dice: Family Pizza and Game Night. We'll have board games and tables spread out in the meeting room, just drop in, grab a slice, and choose a game! Slice & Dice is for all ages, no registration required.
For little ones, on Wednesday afternoons, from 3 PM - 7 PM, drop in at the Children’s Room for Summer Crafternoons. No registration is necessary!
On Friday, July 18, at 10:30 AM in the Art Gallery, kids and families are invited to a fun, interactive, and educational science program presented by Kosmic Kelly! This program is funded in part by a grant from the Pepperell Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
